I was born in LaGrange, GA in 1987. When I was four months old we moved to Dublin… Dublin, Ga that is not Ireland. I grew up in Dublin with two brothers, Josh and Thomas, and both of my parents, Tom and Lora. Josh is 14 months younger than me, and Thomas is 7 years younger than me.
Growing up my family was very active in church. The people in the church have been as instrumental in my life as anyone else has been. Everyone in my life has helped me to grow up and realize people want to be respected and valued. And as a human being and a Christian we need to treat each other, and everyone, in such ways.
My grandfather was my hero. We both shared May 11 as our birthday and spent it together pretty much every year. He lived his life in service of others and really embracing how to love everyone. His life is the one I most try to learn from. People talk all of the time about how much he did for them. He owned a grocery store and made sure everyone that needed food had food, whether they had the money or not. He just always trusted that if he did the right thing, everything would work out and God would provide him and his family with what they really needed. Even if money wasn’t it.
I am enrolled in Mercer University where I am majoring in Journalism and

minoring in Christianity. I am a senior and can not believe my time there has flown by that fast. Currently I am in Washington DC in an internship program through George Washington University. I intern at XM Radio Monday-Thursday and attend class on Tuesday and Thursday nights and all day Friday. In the classes we have leading journalist in the field come speak to us about their careers and journalism as a whole. It is a great program and I am loving it here.
I have been dating Amanda Porter for about a year and a half now. We first met back in the summer of 2006 when we both sang in an all state youth choir. We toured Washington DC and Baltimore and even rode on the same bus and were in the same break out choir. But she hated my group of friends because we were there to have fun between concerts and all she and her friends wanted to do was rest. But we later met again when she came to Mercer and started attending the same church as me there. We started dating that February and have been since.
